My friend Carlo Portillo Eckman has been serving in the Peace Corps since February of 2024 in a small town in Panama called La Cuchilla. La Cuchilla, lying near the foothills of the Central Mountain Range of Panama (Cordillera Central), is defined by a combination of rolling hills, mountainous areas, and most importantly, its close-knit community, with strong family and social ties. La Cuchilla, home to 70 Panamanians, has more cows than people. Aside from La Cuchilla, Carlo and I made our way to El Valle de Antón. El Valle lies in the crater of an extinct volcano, surrounded by mountains and cloud forest, and is the largest town in the world that's completely inside a volcanic crater. The following photos were captured on 110mm film during the trip.

Filmed and edited a mini-documentary following Woovin Shin’s journey through Iron Man California 2025. Through all of his ups and the downs, take a few minutes to hear exactly why Woovin decided to embark on this journey. Hope this video inspires you as much as it inspires me!

A perfect day at Ocean Beach in San Francisco — glassy water, over-head barrels, a beautiful sunset, and great swell, all subject to one of the hardest paddle-outs known in surfing, contrasting the beauty that comes with Ocean Beach along with the brutal reality from venturing out into the waves. Inspired by a chapter in Elude by Perry Gershkow.

Fall in Mount Tam — Since I moved to the Bay Area in 2015, I’ve seen shots of Mount Tam covered in clouds making for some of the most dreamy and nostalgic videos I’ve watched. It’s been a bucket list item of mine to get up there above the clouds during a sunset. Was sitting in SF one evening while it was super foggy and looked across the Bay towards Sausalito and saw a break in the clouds. Thought to myself ‘maybe this is the perfect time for Mt. Tam’. Packed my drone, got in my roommates car and drove off. Used 2 full batteries and flew for over an hour taking pics/vids the entire time. It looked perfect from up there. My friend helped me pick the song which I think works perfectly for the clips. I hope you enjoy this one because I love it. Pull it up on your TV and watch it in 4k!

Combined footage from trips in Big Sky Montana and Alaska during summer of 2024. Very proud of this one as the song really compliments the footage and editing. Big fan of the slow build up and shot choice as the song progresses. Song taken off of one of my favorite artist’s, Odesza, latest album: The Last Goodbye. Drop a like or comment on the video if you enjoyed watching it! This is one of my new favorites…

Cinematic reel featuring footage from the west shore of Lake Tahoe during Memorial Day weekend 2024. Shot in 4K on both 162mm and 24mm lenses. Wanted to recreate a favorite shot of mine from 2020 — flying above a dock in the late afternoon so the trees shadows begin to fall over the water, creating a unique perspective looking down from above. The photo I captured in 2020 was placed in an art gallery and has been a fan favorite when showing people my photos. Go 43 seconds in to see the video equivalent!

A day on the Malibu coastline — after filming numerous seals and a pod of dolphins playing in the shallows, I stitched this together paying high attention to detail during the editing process. Note the color grading, sound effects, and speed changes throughout the video. Watch in 4k for optimal quality.

Cinematic aerial shots taken during a trip over summer of 2023 throughout Europe including the Tuscany countryside, Swiss Alps, Chamonix Mont-Blanc and Interlaken. This project showcases my approach and style to both aerial cinematography, as well as post-production editing. Note the color grading and subtle detail within the editing.

Droning above the fog here in San Francisco with views of the Salesforce Tower, Marin, and Twin Peaks. This video showcases the exceptional quality of both 24mm and 162mm lenses on my dual-lensed drone, and how the different focal lengths can create unique perspectives for certain shots.

Filmed during my final 10 weeks in college, this includes aerial footage from Lake Shasta, Big Sur, and Santa Cruz, over two great songs. During post-production, there was extensive attention to detail within the clip-choice, color grading, sound, speed, crop, effects, and more, and is a great example of my approach to both cinematography and editing. This is arguably my favorite project I have completed.

Shot and edited from a recent day trip to Big Sur. Filmed in 4K on the Mavic 3, as well as Sony A7III. Sequel to my original video on my Youtube back in 2019. Spectacular views driving through the Big Sur coastline.

13-min recap of my trip to Panama this past Labor Day weekend. Split into two parts: first being drone footage from El Valle de Anton including various hikes and one waterfall, and second, all of my iPhone footage from Carlo and I’s day-to-day. I usually don’t make videos over 4-6min but I had too much footage from the trip and needed to do something with it. Pumped on how the drone footage came together over an all time song from Kishi Bashi, originally found through John John Florence’s VFABM (iykyk) back in high school. All of the greens/yellows/blue’s looked awesome and were a blast to color-grade during editing. Was going for a fun, upbeat, and adventurous vibe with this project, hope you enjoy!
